arts & culture in harpenden
Following a survey conducted last Summer to help identify the rich tapestry of local groups, October saw the launch of the new Harpenden Arts & Culture Forum. This Forum is currently formed of over 20 groups that are based within Harpenden and are involved within the arts or culture sector, whether as a business or as a recreational activity group.
‘We were delighted by the positive response to our recent Arts and Culture Survey. We received opinions from people representing a wide spectrum of organisations, emphasising the importance of this sector in Harpenden. Improving the health and wellbeing of the community is a key priority within the Town Council's Business Plan and we are focused on supporting the Arts and Culture sector to help achieve this. Thank you to the new members of the Forum; it was a pleasure to welcome so many people who will help to shape our direction and ensure that we support local Arts and Culture in the most effective ways.’
Cllr Beth Fisher, Chair of the Working Party
Forum members provided valuable feedback on how the Town Council can support and help develop the sector in the Town and have agreed the key areas that the group will focus upon and we look forward to sharing further information about each of these soon.
Communication - Utilising the Town Council’s Communication Channels to actively promote the Forum members, including the creation of a Directory page on our website
