Batford neighbourhood survey
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our survey in 2025. We carefully reviewed the results and really appreciate the opinions you shared. Harpenden Town Council has commenced acting on the suggestions that fall within our remit and we continue to work with partner authorities on matters that are within their jurisdiction such as traffic, parking, verge and hedge management and maintenance.
Since the Survey results:
· We have installed new benches, including disability friendly benches at Batford Springs.
· A new litter picking campaign has been launched with Batford groups signing up to the initiative.
· We have engaged with two new charities that have moved into the area and will contribute to the local economy.
· New land is being purchased adjacent to Batford Springs, which will be developed as part of Batford Springs Nature Reserve, bringing in additional visitors.
· A close working relationship has been formed with the developers of the new housing developments in North East Harpenden. We continue to ensure that the needs of the Batford community will be met as their plans develop.
· The Marquis Lane and Porters Hill playground continue to be maintained with safety checks carried out regularly to ensure that the playground equipment is safe for use.
We are very pleased to share a number of new community initiatives and events that the Town Council is hosting:
