oakley road green space

This is an important local recreational area for Southdown residents and visitors. The space includes a small grass area and separate fenced off play facilities with wooden play equipment: slides, swings, large boat climbing structure, basket swing and toddler rockers.

Oakly Road Green Space was recently acquired by the Town Council and there are plans to improve biodiversity by maintaining and improving existing countryside, hedgerows and planting wildlife friendly trees.

We are consulting residents on a draft Management Plan which can be read by clicking on the link below. This plan provides management objectives to encourage the sustainable use of the play area and improve the local environment for both people and wildlife.

You can read the Oakley Road Green Space Management Plan here.
