Harpenden Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre
The Parish of Harpenden (Church of England) has arranged for a scheme to begin on Monday 25th July for two weeks to enable a limited number of local Ukrainian adults and/or children to use the Harpenden pool and gym free of charge for up to 4 visits each (4 for pool + 4 for gym) until Saturday 6th August 2022. Those interested should write to parishsupportgroup@parishofharpenden.org with the following information:
- Full names (for each adult/child) in BLOCK CAPITALS
- Ages of children
- Local address
This scheme is not available for children under the age of 5, who can swim free of charge anyway. The gym is available to those aged 11 or over.
Only a limited number of places are available from 25th July. The initial scheme is generously supported by Harpenden Leisure/1Life. They hope to provide for more places for later dates. Those accepted for the scheme will receive an email confirmation. The pool/gym will have a list of names and visitors must show ID. Those names not accepted will not benefit from this scheme.
Other local leisure centres
Everyone Active leisure centres are offering FREE memberships for 12 months for our Ukrainian guests. Centres in St Albans, Redbourn and Hemel Hempstead are offering free entry to swimming, soft play, Junior Gym, gym and group exercise classes.
