  5.  Drone and aerial photography/video
    The Town Council commissions private contractors to perform aerial photography and video in order to better document their assets. Devices used to collect images may include aerial vehicles such as helicopters, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) like drones.
    Whilst the data is being captured, the operators will make reasonable efforts to avoid collecting personal data (e.g. identifiable images of persons) and be clearly identifiable as a UAV drone operator. Any filming will not be continuous and will comprise of short clips to the specification required. The areas captured will comprise of land owned and maintained by Harpenden Town Council exclusively.
    Once collected, the data will be stored securely and removed from the device into the custody of Harpenden Town Council. No images of clips which clearly identify any personal data or likeness will be used or stored without consent or informed being provided prior to capture.
    Images will be captured only when the processing is necessary for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by the Town Council or by the third party or parties to whom the data are disclosed, except where the processing is unwarranted in any particular case by reason of prejudice to the rights and freedoms or legitimate interests of the data subject.
    Consent will be implied in the use of the location where images are being captured knowingly. If at any point this informed consent is withdrawn contact the Town Council to inform us of this.
