business support

One of the Town Council's priorities is to help create a vibrant local economy where independent businesses thrive. It’s important that Harpenden continues to be a welcoming destination for residents and visitors; a place where people want to spend time, streets are safe and shopping hubs busy.

Harpenden Business Forum

We are keen to engage with local businesses to understand challenges, discuss ideas, and provide effective support. Our Town is a welcoming destination for residents and visitors; a place where people want to spend time, streets are safe and shopping hubs busy, and we continue to put local independent businesses at the forefront of our objectives.

The inaugural Harpenden Business Forum Meeting will take place on 15th September at The Harpenden Collective

It is our hope that the newly formed Harpenden Business Forum will provide opportunities to achieve our ongoing ambitions, partnering with local organisations to ensure that independent businesses thrive.

With the support of The Harpenden Collective, we are excited to invite business representatives to the inaugural Harpenden Business Forum meeting. This will be an opportunity to learn about support on offer, discuss challenges and network with like-minded people. Attendees will be instrumental in shaping initial key themes of the Forum.

If you are a local business owner or manager and would like to be involved in the Harpenden Business Forum, book your free ticket here on Eventbrite.

We would like to thank the The Harpenden Collective for offering their lovely new premises to us to use for this event.

Introduction to Business Mentoring event

We were excited to welcome so many people representing a diverse range of organisations and interests to this informative evening held on 7th July. We are extremely grateful to our partners The Association of Business Mentors, The Harpenden Collective and Hertfordshire Institute of Directors who provided a fascinating insight into Business Mentoring. If you would like to find out more about these organisations you can download the event hand-out here which includes a brief description and contact details for each of them.

Supporting local independent businesses

Maintaining a picturesque town centre, organising popular events and markets, exciting engagement initiatives and supporting local businesses, helps us to achieve our ambitions. In addition, we provide other tools to support businesses and encourage them to get in touch to find out more about our work.
