Visit from Twin Town of Alzey to Harpenden

Harpenden welcomed a group of visitors from the Town of Alzey, its twin town in Germany, over the weekend of 7-
10 July. The visitors were hosted by the Friends of Alzey and the Town Mayor, Cllr Lisa Scriven and enjoyed a varied 
programme of visits and activities during their stay which included a tree planting ceremony in honour of the 
Queen’s Green Canopy, a civic reception, visits to St Paul’s Waldenbury and Rothamsted Research, and the 
opportunity to attend the Highland Gathering....
