local business survey:
e-cargo bikes
Harpenden Town Council is exploring the idea of launching an electric-cargo bike (e-cargo bike) hire scheme for independent retailers in Harpenden. We value your opinions and would like to understand if this initiative is of interest.
E-cargo bikes are electric bicycles specifically designed to carry heavy loads, offering a practical and eco-friendly alternative to traditional vehicles for transporting goods and passengers helping to reduce use of larger vehicles, reduce transport costs, and can be a more sustainable way to travel. They have extended racks or built-in cargo boxes, allowing for significant carrying capacity and are equipped with electric-assist motors that help riders manage the extra weight, making it easier to navigate urban environments without the strain of pedaling heavy loads. We anticipate that they could be used for deliveries, collections, and other business needs within Harpenden.
If you own or manage a Harpenden business we would be grateful if you could complete this short survey which aims to understand current awareness, interest, and any opportunities or concerns.
