new installation on the concourse

A large flower-bed planter with seating will be installed on the Concourse, near the Library, this week as part of our work on enhancing and maintaining the features of the Town Centre. Floral displays and green open spaces play a vital role in ensuring Harpenden is a welcoming and vibrant place for residents and visitors to enjoy, and the new installation will enable sustainable planting with an additional benefit of attractive outdoor seating.

The Concourse area has been cordoned off recently to ensure pedestrians avoid tripping on the uneven pavement caused by the roots of the nearby maple tree. The new installation has the added benefit of covering and protecting the tree’s roots and therefore all fencing will be taken down.

If you would like to find out more about how we take care of Harpenden's trees and the ongoing improvements to the public realm please take a look on our website: www.harpenden.gov.uk/harpenden
